Intent

Our intent for PSHE education at Bearbrook Combined School is to provide a fundamental, high-quality, and progressive curriculum designed to support the holistic and independent development of our pupils. From EYFS through to Year Six, we aim to equip children with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to navigate personal, social, and emotional challenges in a positive, resilient, and responsible way.

By embedding the Question-Based Model from the PSHE Association alongside our newly adopted Kapow PSHE scheme, we ensure a legally compliant and modern framework that maps fully against statutory Relationships and Health Education (RSE) guidelines. Our curriculum is intentionally designed to build strong partnerships with parents, the wider community, and external specialists like the Buckinghamshire Mental Health Support Team (MHST). Through this collaborative approach, we intent to foster emotional literacy, personal safety (including online risk and digital harms), and a deep sense of citizenship, preparing our pupils to thrive in a diverse and dynamic world.
