Pupil Premium Information

What is Pupil Premium?

Pupil Premium is additional government funding given to schools to help ensure that all children have the same opportunities to succeed, regardless of their background. It is provided for pupils who are eligible for free school meals (or have been in the last six years), children who are looked after, and children with parents in the armed forces.

In line with the Department for Education’s guidance for school leaders, our approach is evidence-informed and follows a tiered model recommended by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF).

At our school, we use Pupil Premium funding to remove barriers to learning and to help every child thrive. This includes investing in:

  • High‑quality teaching that supports all learners
  • Targeted academic support, such as small‑group teaching and intervention programmes
  • Pastoral and wellbeing support to help pupils feel confident, settled and ready to learn
  • Enrichment opportunities, ensuring all children can take part in wider school life

We carefully track the progress of pupils eligible for Pupil Premium and regularly review the impact of our spending to make sure it is making a real difference.  The funding is not a personal budget for individual pupils. Instead, it is used strategically to address the challenges disadvantaged pupils face and to help close the attainment gap between them and their peers.

Our aim is simple: to give every child the best possible chance to achieve their potential.

If you think that you are eligible to apply, or if you are not sure, please contact the school office in confidence.
