Intent

Our intent for Music at Bearbrook is to deliver a high-quality, progressive curriculum from Pre-School and Foundation through to Year Six that engages, inspires, and fosters a lifelong love of music. By utilising the Kapow Primary music scheme, we intend for children to gradually build a robust knowledge base and develop their unique talents as musicians, music-creators, performers, and analytical audience members. Our curriculum design explicitly uses music as a creative stimulus to build stronger, authentic links to other curriculum topics, ensuring a fluid transfer of skills and knowledge across subjects. Through this integrated approach, we aim to build pupils' self-confidence, creativity, and sense of achievement while promoting our core school values of respect and empowerment.
