Sports Premium

The dedicated primary PE and Sport Premium, which was announced in March 2013 and has continued since. This goes directly to primary school head teachers so that they can decide how best to use it to provide sporting activities for pupils.

For academic year 2021-2022 we have received £19,920 of funding.

Bearbrook have decided for this academic year to focus on the following:

  • To improve the number of after school and lunchtime clubs available, especially focusing on the engagement of Pupil Premium children.

  • To continue to promote sports and healthy living effectively through the 'Daily Mile' and PHSE lessons.

  • To bring PE to the 'front seat' and ensure that healthy living is seen as a key skill for children to be learning.

  • To continue to ensure that more teachers are trained in PE.

  • To ensure that TAs are involved in PE lesson meaning more children are supported when they need it.

  • To increase the number of competitions with other schools in sports.
